Catching up on Eastbound and down.
Season two takes place in Mexico and as I am watching I keep thinking how much it looks like Puerto Rico. Then during a night scene I can hear the coquis in the background. It’s like when I was watching the movie Losers there is a scene that says they are in Dallas but the coquis in the background are really prominent.

Got back from Puerto Rico last night.
It’s hard to leave the place the feels the closest to home. It’s hard to get back to the routine that always seems meaningless. It’s gonna be hard to get back into that Christmas spirit. I would feel that way even if I had not just come back from a funeral. “Borinquen es pura flama y aqui me muero de frio.”

A funeral is the worst time to have a big family.
I’ve kissed hello so many people I’ve lost count. Then come the kiss goodbyes. I just want to say goodbye to my grandmother.

Mourning
My grandmother passed away today. Nine months after my grandfather passed away. The day after my little brothers birthday and the day he got his acceptance letter to Rutgers University. My mom doesn’t know, she is on a plane headed to Puerto Rico not knowing what happened. We are getting our tickets now. Can’t wait for 2011 to be over.

Zombie Lincoln
ccruz: I dreamt that former President Lincoln terrorized the streets for weeks in full zombie form. Somehow he could speak (but not run because zombies don’t run) and was dezombified just enough to be re-elected.  That’s an Awesome Idea and I want to watch that movie, see that show, read that comic and/or play that game. Make it happen!
